It was truly an honor to be part of Mary Ann's journey and to learn from her as so often happens to nurses in our careers. I remember wanting to be a nurse so that I could help others but early in my practice realized that I indeed have been so "helped" by those I have met. Your mom is no exception to that rule. She reminded me that life is indeed short and through your stories I was reminded that the person we often see near the end of their life is not the person that her family knows for a lifetime. Her picture with her beautiful smile reminds me of the few times she was able to smile in the past few months struggling so deeply with depression and illness.
It was an honour to meet you all - Tom, James, Kelli, Tanya (and even Fear Factor Rob) and really to be involved in her circle of care and for that I do thank you and I pray for you all in the coming difficult days ahead. It is a joy to know such a kind and caring family
