Derrick “Coop” Cooper died peacefully in Ross Memorial Hospital on October 23, 2011 at 84 years of age. Born November 19, 1926 in London, England Derrick entered the British Navy at the young age of 16 to serve his country in war. In 1955 Derrick and his beloved wife Iris immigrated to Canada to start a family. After settling in Ontario Derrick was an avid angler and hunter and lived his dream as an outdoorsman exploring the great Canadian outdoors. Derrick is survived by his wife Iris, Daughter Lisa, son Aaron, grandchildren, Lindsay and Mason. A memorial service has been arranged for Derrick on Saturday November 5, 2011 at Parker Funeral Home – 19 Moose Road in Lindsay with Visitation from 1:00 pm until time of service at 3:00 pm and a reception to follow. For anyone wishing to make a donation to the Ross Memorial Hospital envelopes will be provided at the service. A special thank-you goes out from the Coopers to the staff of Ross Memorial Hospital for their kindness and support during Derrick’s stay.
