It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of our Dad at Hospice Simcoe. He was predeceased by his wife and love of his life, Betty Howard, in 2018. Devoted father to Colleen, Valerie (Barry), Robert (Shauna), Elizabeth (Robert), Lenore (Harold), and Janet (Dan). Survived by his brother Charles (Milly) and predeceased by his brother John (Dorothy). He will be sadly missed by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bill began his career as an auto mechanic in Sutton, then founded and successfully managed Uxbridge Sandblasting & Edgefield, a group home in Oakwood, with his wife Betty.
Bill had an amazing 91 years and was a lifelong learner. His interests and hobbies were many. A mechanic, pilot, woodworker, and lover of alternative energy sources. From the purchase of his beloved electric car to designing alternative heating systems for the three homes he built, he was a creative thinker and innovator. All of these accomplishments are only surpassed by his integrity, honesty, and distinct sense of humor.
A life well lived.
We would like to express profound gratitude to Simcoe Hospice for their exceptional care during his final days.
The family welcomes you to join them in celebrating Bill’s life October 21, 2023 @ 1pm, Leaskdale Historic Church, 1850 Durham Road 1, Leaskdale, L0C 1C0
