William "Bill" James Francis

Passed away peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario on April 28, 2026 with family by his side. Born in Haliburton Outpost, Ontario to the Late William Orville Francis & Bernice Margurite Francis (nee Hoyle). Bill leaves behind his cherished wife Carol Francis (nee Coppins). Beloved father of Carrie Francis-Balwinczak (Roman). Loving grandfather of Nicole Francis (Drew) & Alex Balwinczak. Predeceased by siblings Robert Francis (survived by Beverley) & Elizabeth Sears (survived by Micheal). Brother-in-law of Cathy Harding (Bill), Margaret Carroll (Robert), the Late John Coppins & the Late George Coppins. Remembered by nieces and nephews Micheal, Jeffery, Sara, Raymond, Stefanie & their families.

Bill was a devoted employee of General Motors for 37 years. He had a deep love for music and boating, finding joy both on the water and in a good song. Always helpful to friends, family, and even strangers, he was known for his kindness and generous spirit. At the same time, he had a playful side. A practical jokester with a great sense of humor who loved dressing up in funny costumes to make people laugh. He also had a passion for genealogy, taking pride in understanding his roots. Bill was especially particular about his grass, keeping it just the way he liked it.

In keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a Celebration of Life at the Fenelon Falls Legion on May 30, 2026 between the hours of 1PM-4PM. The Francis family invites everyone to wear a touch of red to tribute Bill’s favourite colour.
