Wesley "Wes" Edward Kruger Sr.

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Wes Kruger on July 27, 2025, at the age of 86. Wes passed away in his sleep at Ajax Pickering Hospital, finally resting after a long life well lived.

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Wes grew up alongside his siblings Art, Roy, and Marg, all of whom predeceased him. He spent much of his working life with the City of Scarborough’s Parks Department. He genuinely liked what he did and valued the friendships he built along the way. It was a job he was proud of, and he retired feeling content with the work he had done.

After retiring, he moved to Apsley, Ontario, here he embraced a slower pace and dedicated his time to woodworking and the simple pleasures of country life. In his final months, he lived in a nursing home in Ajax, close to family.

Wes was the father of eight children: Paul, Wesley Jr., Donald, Lori, Jamie, Tracey, Cheryl, and Solange. He is also remembered by the extended families that grew through their partners and loved ones over the years. Wes was a beloved grandfather and great-grandfather to many, and will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, and all those whose lives he touched.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Ballycliffe Long Term Care Residence and Ajax Pickering Hospital for their care and kindness during his final days.
