It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Samuel Campsall, who died peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario, on February 10, 2025, at the age of 85.
Wayne was a wonderful husband, brother, father, uncle, Grampy, and friend.
He was born to Samuel and Florence Campsall on October 18, 1939, in South Porcupine, Ontario, and was the older brother of Dale Campsall. Wayne married his beautiful wife, Lois (Knowles), on September 8, 1962. During their 62 years of marriage, they welcomed four children: Daniel, Shane (Tammy), Vaneesa, and Devlin (Renee), as well as 10 grandchildren: Joshua, Jeffrey (Jillian), Samuel, Mackenzie, Isaiah, Caleb, Benjamin, Alistair, Addison, and Arianna.
Wayne was a Red Seal-certified electrician. As a proud IBEW union member, he traveled across Canada and the USA, treating each job opportunity as a new adventure.
Wayne, Lois, and the kids enjoyed camping and traveling. He was also passionate about hockey, coaching many teams and dedicating time to his children, nephews, and grandkids, teaching them to skate and play the game. His team was the Toronto Maple Leafs, and he often enjoyed the games with anyone who knew to ask questions only during commercial breaks or intermissions!
He dedicated his life to service, spending many years working closely with the Salvation Army and other church organizations. He always had a sermon memorized for any situation. His profound love for Jesus lasted until the very end and was evident in the way he treated everyone in his life with genuine kindness and grace. His unwavering devotion to his family and community was remarkable. He touched every life he came across, becoming like a father to many along the way. His spirit was, and continues to be, strong, inspiring many to keep Jesus in their hearts. His favorite verse, which he asked us to live by, is found in Romans 8:28. Wayne would ask that each of us look it up and memorize it.
