Shirlie (nee Marks) was born in Orillia on March 9th, 1926 to parents Florence Williams and Robert Marks. Entered into rest on Monday, August 23rd, 2010 at the age of 84, following a lengthy battle with Cancer and Alzheimer’s. Beloved wife of the late Edward Clarkson (1962) and life companion of the late Fred Harris (2009). Sadly missed by daughters Beverley Moxley (Bill) and Karen Hawkin; grandchildren Chris Moxley (Laurie), Brett Moxley, Adam Moxley (Amanda), Brian Moxley (Lindsay Sheard), Brianna Hawkin and Emily Hawkin. Great grandmother of five and aunt of many nieces and nephews. Brother John (Carol) of Kelowna, BC; sister-in-law Carole Marks of London; brother-in-law Edward Jones of Orillia; brother Jim Marks of Toronto; sister-in-law Gladys Clarkson of Ajax; predeceased by brother Bill Marks and sister Joan Jones. There will be a funeral service on Thursday, August 26th at 6:30 pm at Parker Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 19 Moose Road, Lindsay. Reception to follow. If desired, in memoriam donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family and can be arranged by Parker Funeral Home 705-324-1988.
