Passed away peacefully at Case Manor, Bobcaygeon, Ontario on Monday, December 20th, 2010. Ruth was born in Saskatchewan on February 5th, 1921. Loving daughter of Mary Ada & John L. Torrance. Predeceased by her husband Norman F. Taylor of Fenelon Falls, brothers Robbie, George, and Ray, nephew Allen Sproul, and daughter Vickey F. (Taylor) Elworthy. Survived by one sister, Clare (Torrance) Sproul of British Columbia and nephews Larry and Kent Sproul. Mother in law of Robert Elworthy (Vickey F. predeceased) of Bowden, Alberta. Step mother of Glenda (nee Taylor) & Gerald Young of Sombra, Ontario. Grandmother of Brooke (Ernie Bertschi), Trina (Michael Sprayson), Kyle Young (Laura Brown) and Colin Young. Great grandmother of Evan Bertschi, Jace Bertschi and Gwyneth Sprayson. In keeping with Ruth’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, May 7th, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Parker Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 19 Moose Road, Lindsay. Reception to follow. In memoriam donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada or The Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) would be appreciated by the family and can be arranged by Parker Funeral Home 705-324-1988.
