Rodney John Locke

Suddenly, after a brief illness, Rodney John Locke of Buckhorn, and most recently Bowmanville, passed away May 16th, 2017, at the age of 70. Cherished husband for 48 years, of Laurene Locke, and father to Darren Locke (Lorelei Downes), of Bowmanville, and Darcy Locke (Brandi Locke) of Banff, Alberta. Adored grandfather to Erica 'Riley', Ethan, and Zachariah Crump, of Bowmanville, Scott and Hailey of Banff, Alberta. Rod was the cherished brother-in-law and uncle to many nieces and nephews, and a friend to all he met. He will always be remembered by his 4-legged travelling partner and constant companion, Lexie, the chocolate lab. Rodney will be remembered by colleagues of the City of Kawartha Lakes, and Husky Oil in Alberta. Predeceased by mother Melba Weatherhead, Rodney is survived by his father John Locke (Marg), of Lindsay, and sisters Brenda (Marv) of Alberta, Adele (Tom) of Bobcaygeon and Janice of Lindsay. Rodney will be missed by many friends and family, both in Ontario, and Alberta. Rodney's presence will be especially missed by friends in Largo, Florida, where he enjoyed winters with his beloved wife. Friends and family are invited to a 'Celebration of Life' at Lakeland Funeral & Cremation Centre,19 Moose Road, Lindsay on Tuesday, May 23rd from 11-1.
