Smoky loved life like no other! Building, creating, playing, traveling, riding his Harley Davidson and partaking in poker games with his pals. A wolf who cherished running with the pack. He touched the hearts and funny bones of many other crank-sters , gangsters and pranksters for over 9 decades. A National Tresure in his own rite, spreading history, jokes and practical knowledge to anyone who was lucky enough to lend an ear.
Smoky was a real leader at being true to oneself. An inventor and an expert at finding the best deals around. He was a foodie before that was a thing, and honestly the first person to ever take multiple selfies from an Eddie Blacks 110. Smoky was a character who could never be duplicated. Afterall, who could wake up in the morning to a bowl of Raisin bran (laid out the night before), go to the same job at Sangamo Electric for 63 years, make drums, bows and arrows, find time for his family(Plural) play with the boys, share all of his stories with the local cashiers, while remaining magical every single day? Our dad that's who!
Thank you Dad, Smoky! From all of your enormously dedicated loving pack of family and friends.
You truly rode off into the sunset with vim and vigor!!!
Thank you to all of Smoky's people who were present and helped carry dad to his final resting place under the stellar blue pine, across the garden from his mom and dad.
Thank you to Lakeland, the staff and the wonderful way in which we came together to honour Ralph Frank James. Bless Smoky and us all. Rest well Daddio!!
We will be having a celebration of Life in September. Please contact Dwayne or Dawn-Anne.
A graveside service took place on Friday, June 30, 2023 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Scarborough, Ontario.
