Patrick O’Brien
Our beloved Patrick said goodbye to us on December 12, 2021 after a sudden and very short battle with cancer.  Patrick William Leo O’Brien, was born March 7,1963 to Patrick and Mary O’Brien in Toronto, Ontario.  As a boy he was fun, quiet, and loved to play hockey with his buddies.  He enjoyed his teens, twenties and thirties with his many friends, and lots of misadventures.
Patrick was in his forties when he found the woman that would become his wife.  He patiently,  built a truly wonderful life and family with Rochelle and Delanie. Patrick was a thoughtful and devoted husband and father.  Rochelle will miss having her best friend by her side, but is so very grateful that she was able to spend the rest of his life with him.  Delanie and her fiancé Justin will miss his mischievous, fun-loving character and also his direct, uncomplicated advice to life challenges.
Patrick loved his family.  He shared a close bond with his father and has missed him terribly since his death last year.  He quietly adored his mother Mary, and always wished that he had more time to spend with her.
As the third child born in his family and the first boy, Patrick held a very complicated position.  Two older sisters Linda (Mike) and Tammy (Jim) kept him on his toes, testing his patience, while he tried to be a good example to his younger brother Michael (Anne).
He has always admired the courage of his Aunt Norah, and cousin Susan as they followed their determined journey in life.  He held them close in his heart, as well as all the many cousins across the province and the Aunts and Uncles he has lost over the years.
Patrick always loved spending time with his many nieces and nephews, and was very much aware of all their special gifts that they brought to his life.  He will be missed by them all: Miranda (Scott), Darren (Melissa), Shannon (Robert), Mark (Chelsea), James (Rosie), Patrick, Sean and Kate.   As well as his many great nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held for Patrick.
This will be followed by a Memorial Reception open to all from 1:00 - 3:00 PM on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Lakeland Funeral & Cremation Centre in Lindsay, Ontario.
All those attending will be asked to have proof of double vaccination with valid ID.
In lieu of flowers, Patrick would appreciate donations to the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes, Canadian Mental Health Association or the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation.
