Nicholas Scriabin Obituary

Nicholas Scriabin

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nicholas Scriabin on November 10, 2024. Nick passed away peacefully with his beloved wife Daphne by his side. Together, for more than 50 years they lived a life full of travel and adventure. Particularly dear to Nick’s heart were visits to the place of his birth Rome, Italy, to Cape Town, where he spent years as a boy, and to the place he returned most often, the Dolomites in the S?d Tirol, Italy. This was where his love of mountain climbing began and time was spent with his extended family Pauli Wörndle and Karl Gudauner.
Nick loved languages and could speak five fluently. He was an accomplished skier, artist, classical guitarist, and he loved to cook for friends and family. Nick’s career as a Project Manager took him all over the world from Poland to Argentina, the UK and across Canada. Nick is lovingly survived by Daphne, his children Nicole and Andrew, sister-in-law Jannie and nephew Tony. In the UK, he is survived by the Richardson, Aiken, Cook and Hawkswell families. He was predeceased by his mother Phyllis, father André and brother Michael and Pauli, his cherished second Mother.

A private family cremation has taken place and a gathering will be planned for the New Year.

No flowers please, but a donation to Dementia Research would be greatly appreciated.

We would like to thank friends, family, neighbours and the staff at Ross Memorial Hospital for their care and support during the last few difficult weeks.
