August 15, 1951 - October 30, 2024

Passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024. Loving wife of George. Beloved mother of Jennifer (Andy) Johnston, Kevin (Jennifer) Empringham and Carol (Todd) Keeler. Very proud grandmother of Adam (Jillian), Sarah (Ryan), Kayla, Nolan, Abigail, Madeline, Logan and Lily, great-grandson Hans and bonus great-grandchildren Preston and Remington. Dear sister of Ron (Nancy), Rick (Linda), Joan (John), Ralph (Joyce), Beth (late Mike), and Steve (Sue). Sister-in-law of Shirley (late Donald). Predeceased by her parents Stanley and June Hoar. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and friends.  

Mary’s kindness, generosity and love will always be remembered. Family meant everything to Mary. Her smile and laughter were at the centre of all family gatherings. 

Mary’s family appreciates the compassion and support of the cancer care teams at St Joseph's Health Centre, Lakeridge Health and Peterborough Regional Health Centre, and the palliative care teams.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Saturday November 23, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M. at Lakeland Funeral Centre in Lindsay, Ontario. Words of remembrance will take place at 2:00 P.M. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes.
