It is with great sadness we share the news of the peaceful passing of Lourdes Rich, in her 81st year. Lourdes was born and grew up in Mexico City, where she became a travel agent and developed a keen interest in world travel. One fateful day, while vacationing in Acapulco, Mexico, she cautioned a young Canadian that the sand was very hot.

She eventually married the young man and moved to relatively cold farm life in Little Britain. Together they raised a beautiful family. They travelled the world, and Lourdes flourished as the first Spanish teacher at Sir Sanford Fleming College in Lindsay, and a Spanish court translator.

Lourdes is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dick Rich, children Edward (Agnita Pal) and Maureen (Steven Cage), and grandchild Azura Rich. She is predeceased by her brothers Raul (Graciela) and Luis (Katia).

She is fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, neighbours, and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 31 Russell St. E., Lindsay on Friday September 26, 2025 at 1pm, followed by a Celebration of Life reception at Lakeland Funeral and Cremation Centre, 19 Moose Road, Lindsay.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society​​ of Canada.
