LENORE PEARSON (Nee MAYHEW)
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Lenore Pearson on November 22, 2024 at the age of 85 years. Lenore entered into rest peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital with Ron, her husband of over 66 years by her side.
Born to Lawrence and Elizabeth, Lenore grew up in Essex county with sister Joanne, Rosemary (late George) and the late Larry (Ellie). She graduated from Tilbury District High School and attended teacher's college in London, Ontario, before her marriage to Ron, son of Janet and Alfred Pearson, when she became sister-in-law to the late Ernie (Sharon), Gord, Joy (Brian), the late Sarah, the late Dale and Gary (Karen).
Lenore taught primary grades in Amherstburg and Cottam but when she moved to Reaboro in 1970 she left to focus on her growing family, which was her greatest source of joy. She was the loving mother of Tim (Sharon), Jim, Ed (Apple), the late Kathy (Rick) and Janet (Greg). She will be fondly remembered by Jenny-Lee, Bev, Sunduk and her many nieces and nephews who will recall the endless supply of Aunt Lenore’s baking during summer trips to the farm.
She will be missed by her grandchildren Tim (Cassandra), Brianne (Alan), Amanda (Sean), Jeannie (Tyler), Matthew (Ash), Gary (Nicole), Jamie-Lee (Derek), Vanessa (Andrew), Vaughan (Abby), Jun-ho, Kandace (Ian), Johnathan, Abigail and Poppy, as well as great grandchildren Thomas-Jay, Chase, Shanna, Haidyn, Alexis, Zack, Cash, Max, Violet, Ellie, Claire, Owen, Lily, Aubrey, Elliot, Layne, James, George, Charlie, Rosemary, Howard, Ryan & Caleb and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Her family remembers her as an amazing cook who loved to bake, can and pickle. Lenore took great pride in her garden during the summer and spent her free time in the winter quilting and sewing. She won numerous ribbons at the Lindsay Fair for her food creations, quilting, crafts and flowers. She loved the Christmas season and was famous for her creative gifts that overflowed the handmade stockings.
Outside of the home Lenore was generous with her volunteer time, both with the former Queen St. United Church and over 25 years of dedicated support to the Ops Figure Skating Club.
Lenore also loved to travel, planning many group tours around the world with Ron and sister Joanne. She will be missed by her BINGO friends, a source of entertainment in her retirement years.
The family will privately celebrate her life out of respect to her final wishes, but Ron encourages friends and neighbours to stop by the house throughout the winter to share the many stories over her lifetime. We remember our Lenore not with sad tears but with fond smiles for the wonderful life journey she and Ron embarked upon.
