Kathryn Annette Liznick

Kathryn Annette Liznick of Lindsay, Ontario, passed away peacefully on the morning of October 8th 2023, surrounded by her loved ones, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Loving wife of Mark Liznick. Beloved mother of Melissa (Brett) Longhurst, Kaylin (Spencer) Barnes, and Nicholas (Cody Pressley). Proud Grandma of Miles Longhurst. Loving Godmother of Paige Liznick (Safir Jiwa).

Born and raised in Iroquois Falls, Ontario, Kathy was a caring, loyal and hardworking person with a great sense of humour. She was a child of the outdoors and loved kayaking, camping, swimming, and fishing. Kathy was a fierce protector of her family, with a soft spot for wildlife and pets. Her true green thumb inspired her children and taught them the value of a good houseplant and garden.

As humble as she was intelligent, she had many skills and interests ranging from the creative arts, math and numbers, woodworking and anything computer-related. Despite the yearly postseason disappointments, she was a committed Blue Jays fan who attended many games. Kathy enjoyed her position as the family’s de facto Rockband vocalist, as well as being the undisputed Nintendo 64 and Texas Hold ‘Em champion.

Kathy will be greatly missed by her mother, Shirley (James) Burns, her siblings David (Terri), Shawn (Teresa), and Jennifer Burns, as well as her dear Aunt Beverly Burns and Godmother Sheila (Barry) McCusker, her friends, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, in-laws, extended family and her colleagues at the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.

A memorial reception will be held at Lakeland Funeral Centre (19 Moose Road, Lindsay) on Saturday November 25, 2023 between the hours of 1PM - 4PM. 

Memorial donations can be made to a local animal shelter or a cancer charity of your choice.
