Passed away peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Sunday December 29, 2024. Cherished husband of Mary Anne Ley (nee Heathfield). Devoted father of Leslie Anne Ley-Hartwick of Courtice. Doting grandfather of Joshua Grant Hudson of Toronto, Holly Ley Hudson (Manny) of Georgetown & Caleb John Hudson (Agnes) of Barrie. Proud great grandfather of Oliver, Charlotte, Amelia, Andrew & Alexander. Dear brother of Carol Blunt (the Late Don), the Late Ronald (Barb), Rick (Ellen) and brother in law of Robert Heathfield (Gail).
John was a sports fanatic. He was an avid golfer & hockey player. He coached baseball for over 10 years. He spent any free time he had hunting & travelling. He will be missed by many of his friends in Arizona.
In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 8, 2025 at Lakeland Funeral Centre (19 Moose Road, Lindsay) between the hours of 11AM - 1PM. Service will begin at 1PM with a reception to follow.
Donations in memory of John can be made to the Durham Regional Cancer Centre or Ross Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
