Joan Eades (McEachern) Obituary

It is with extreme sadness and severely broken hearts that we share the passing of a very remarkable woman, Joan Marilyn Eades.  After a very long and hard battle with two horrific diseases our angel left us on Sat. Nov. 11, 2023.

Joan was the beloved wife, best friend, partner and soul mate to Gary Eades (deceased 2016) for 60 years. Joan was very much a selfless person who was always prepared to help out and with only a split second’s notice! She spent many hours helping Gary with his well drilling business, preparing and packing him for his many hunting trips, washing his vehicles, painting trailers,  cutting the lawn and so much more. Joan always provided a beautiful and very loving home and prepared many delicious meals and desserts for Gary and their three children. She was always there for Gary through thick and thin! She loved him with all of her heart and soul as he did her!

Joan was a best friend and earth angel to Gordie their son (deceased 2015). She was there no matter what and they enjoyed many hours watching and chatting about the Toronto Blue Jays. They even went on two trips to Coopers Town New York to see the baseball hall of fame!

Joan was also a very special Mom and friend to Debbie Dorgan (Tim) of Manilla. Super special Grandmother, confidante and advisor to Amy Gilson (Colin) of Cannington. Special Grandmother to Timmy Jr. of Manilla and wonderful “GG” to Dylan Gilson of Cannington.
Debbie and Joan spent many nights travelling to Bingo and they also had lots of shopping trips together. Joan and Gary then spent countless hours at the cottage and later at their permanent home with Debbie, Tim, Amy, Timmy and Dylan at Lake Dalrymple. They enjoyed fishing, swimming, campfires, card games, long chats and so much more!

Joan was very much an amazing Mom, best friend, endless special angel, cook, menu maker, laundry folder, cruise ship companion and so much more to Bonnie Eades (Tyler) of Bolsover.
We shared many beautiful hours together listening to your favourite ABBA music, Patsy Clyne, Charlie Pride and even dancing outside on the deck just a few weeks before you passed! We so loved watching the Hallmark movies, HGTV and of course your hero’s no matter what… the Toronto Blue Jays! A BIG thank you to Sharlene R. for the special letter that Mom received from the Blue Jays organization just before she passed away, it meant the world to her! Joan (Mom) you were a trooper when you broke both of your arms a few years back as were you this last eight months stay. You were with us in Bolsover fighting your very hard battle, we spent many sleepless nights trying to solve all of  the world’s problems and you were always a saint.. worrying about everyone else around you! You were always so thoughtful and thankful for absolutely everything. I will always treasure our many long chats, our warm loving hugs and so much more.

Joan was a special Auntie to Sean McEachern, you two had a very special bond together and your visits from Sean always made you sparkle! It made you so happy that Sean came to see you and stayed with you the night before and right until your last breath!

Joan had many incredible friends that she loved so dearly. She went on many trips in the earlier years and so enjoyed everyone of them. They included Bingo and across border shopping trips, camping trips and  many Blue Jays games over the years. She loved to go out for the luncheons with her beautiful school friends from so many years back and she so loved that they stayed in touch. Joan also loved to go to the Sunderland and Pefferlaw Bingos with her amazing friends “the 2 sisters” Margo and Anna and Judy H. and even played every Saturday night with a her very special friend Margo at her apartment in Sunderland.

Joan was also a special doggie Mom to Scotty for many years, she rescued him and gave him a life of love and luxury…they were soul mates until the very last day!
Life will NEVER be the same and we will always wonder how we will go on without you but you made each and everyone of us so thankful for touching so many of our lives in such a truly loving, caring and incredible way!
Until we meet again, we love you so much..our forever very special angel!

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
