It is with deep sadness that the family of Jo-Anne Lefler announces her peaceful passing on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the age of 74, following a sudden illness.
Jo-Anne will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 52 years, Randy Lefler; her cherished children, Carrie Dougan and Steven (Ginette) Lefler; and her adored grandchildren, Kayla and Katie Dougan, and Cavelle and Dean Lefler. She was a constant source of love, support, and joy in their lives, taking immense pride in every moment shared with them. She was the beloved daughter of the late Ross and Ila Kennedy, and a dear sister to Donna (Dave) McMahon and the late Brenda Jones. Loving aunt to her nieces and nephews.
Jo-Anne had a generous heart and a deep love for her family and friends. Summers were her favourite time of year — her backyard pool was the heart of countless cherished memories, where she welcomed everyone with open arms, laughter, and plenty of food. Her home was a place of warmth, fun, and love — a reflection of her spirit.
Jo-Anne dedicated her professional life to caring for others, beginning her career as an X-Ray Technician at Ross Memorial Hospital in 1972. Her commitment and compassion led her to become the Head of Mammography, a role she held with pride until her retirement.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday July 27, 2025, from 11:00AM-3:00PM at Southview Cameron New Horizons Club (107 Anderson Dr, Cameron, ON), where friends and family are invited to gather and share memories in honour of Jo-Anne’s vibrant and loving life.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Ross Memorial Hospital in Jo-Anne’s memory. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Kawartha Lakes EMS and the exceptional staff at Ross Memorial Hospital, especially those in the Palliative Care Unit, for their kindness and compassionate care.
