Janet Griff Obituary

Passed away peacefully at Caressant Care – Mary on October 28, 2025 with family by her side. Born in Stratford, Ontario to her late parents Stewart Griff & Selma Griff (nee Yost). Cherished sister of Brian (the Late Lois), Karen (Mike) & Nancy (Hardy).

Family was the cornerstone of Janet’s life. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Janet was immensely proud of her siblings-Brian, Karen, and Nancy, who all held a very special place in her heart. We are blessed to have had this connection.

Some of Janet’s favourite memoires were made travelling the world with her sister Nancy. Enjoying adventures, discovering new places, and meeting new people. She especially enjoyed her unforgettable cruise through the Orient. These journeys reflect Janet’s love for exploration, her curiosity about the world, and her appreciation for life's simple beauty.

Janet’s determination built a successful career as a Respiratory Technologist and as the manager of the stress lab at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. Her dedication, professionalism, and calm presences earned her great respect from her peers and those she cared for. Her devoted countless hours to helping others thorough her volunteer work. Serving as the President of the Lung Association, where her leadership and empathy helped raise awareness and support for those in need. Janet’s work with the CNIB reflected your generous spirit. As a Girl Guide leader, Janet inspired and shaped the minds of many young girls. Teaching them confidence, self-reliance, and the joy of exploring the world around them. Leading camping trips, teaching outdoor cooking, and sharing stories by the fire. Janet created lasting memories and instilled in her guides a lifelong appreciation for nature, friendship, and kindness.

Janet was always willing to lend a helping hand, her beautiful, caring heart and gentle spirit made this world a better place. Janet will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew you. Janet touched the hearts of many with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering compassion. Her beautiful smile will be missed.

In keeping with Janet’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service.

Donations in memory of Janet can be made to CNIB - Lake Jo, Ross Memorial Hospital – Dialysis Unit or a charity of your choice.

"Goodbye my family, my time has passed. I've loved you to the very last. Weep not for me but courage take. And love each other for my sake. For those you love don't go away, l'll walk beside you every day."

"Her kindness softly lingered, in every heart she knew. Her laughter, love and gentle ways, will guide our spirts through. Though she's gone from sight today, her light will never fade. For the love she gave so freely, a lasting peace was made."
