Jamie Dawn Bellinger (Sutton)
January 28th 1957 - December 30th 2021
Jamie passed peacefully with dignity and grace after a long battle with cancer as her loving family stood by her side.
Born in Oshawa, Ontario the cherished daughter of the late Grove Sutton and Catherine Sutton (Chappell) and loved big sister to Grovie and sister in law Lisa of Amherst, Nova Scotia. Daughter in law to the late Barbara March and Paul Bellinger.
Loved and adored by her husband and soul mate of 43 yrs Bill Bellinger. Mom and best friend to daughter Erin Nicole Bellinger Lehman and son in law Darrin, son Darrell William Bellinger and daughter in law Kaelah. The best, most supportive Nanie in the world to grandchildren Jordyn Catherine & Taylor Dawn Lehman and Caden Dallan, Tamblyn Nicole & Tyker Ray Bellinger. Beloved niece to Nora Farmer (Chappell), Jean Chappell and Johnny Chappell. Jamie will be missed by her many cousins, sister and brother in laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
Jamie spent her life on the ice. She was introduced to skating at 2yrs old and would skate up and down her sidewalk on Highland Avenue and behind the net while her Dad coached minor hockey. Soon she was out skating those hockey players and joined the local skating club where her love and passion for skating was nurtured and turned into a wonderful fulfilling career of coaching. Jamie spent 39yrs coaching skaters who often became family. The kids she taught and the colleagues she had over the years from many clubs but most notably Kemptville, Smiths Falls and Orono were always held close to her heart.
A special thank you to the many doctors and nurses from Lakeridge Health Oshawa, Peterborough and Ross Memorial palliative care team in Lindsay who cared for Jamie.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Jamie’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Shriners Hospital for Children Montréal.
As per Jamie’s request and at this time, a celebration of life is scheduled to take place at the Canadian Corps, Oshawa on Friday, February 4 from 1:00 P.M. - 4:30 P.M. Eulogies to begin at 3:00 P.M. Proof of vaccination required.
