Ida (Sommerfeld) Howard

Our family is saddened to share the news that Ida Howard, passed on Wednesday August 16th 2025 at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay ON.

Ida, beloved wife of the late Thomas, dear sister of Elisabeth, and the late Ramund, Otto, and Gerhard.

Loving Mother to Diane (Steve Wilkinson) and the late Angela Bauer, and also Jeff, Peggy, Velda, Valmore, and Thomas.

Dear Omi to Kyle (Emma) and C.J.   Great Omi of Banks and Romen and one more we haven’t met yet.

Her faith brought her comfort as did her knitting which provided warmth for those in need. She was always up for a game of cards or a chat over crafts.

Ida will always be loved and remembered by our family and all those who she interacted with, for sharing her time, her talents, her honest opinions, and her stories.

Friends and family are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life for Ida Howard on Saturday August 30th between 1 -3 pm. at the Downeyville Hall (340 St.Luke's Rd, Lindsay On  K9V4R5 - parking available at St.Luke's Church). Words of remembrance will be shared at 1:30 pm., with a light reception to follow.

If you are able to RSVP to Diane  before Aug 28 just for a food estimate that would be appreciated.

Donations can be made to any local charity of your choice but Ida did love supporting the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes, in Lindsay.
