Hugh Semple McNinch

After a long illness, Hugh passed away at the age of 86 at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay on July 7, 2025.

Hugh will be deeply missed by his wife, Christine, two daughters, Elaine and Gail McNinch and grandsons, Cameron and Mackenzie Dodd.

He also leaves behind his sister Margaret Johnstone, brother-in-law Bill Francis, nephew John (Sue), and nieces Lynn (Mark), Maryann Francis and Martha Johnstone. Hugh is predeceased by his parents, John and Mary McNinch, sister Liz Francis, and brother-in-law, Bob Johnstone.

Hugh took much pleasure over the years from the company of his canine friends. While Wally will miss him, Spike, Farley, Amy, and Daisy will be happily reunited with him. 

The family would like to thank Dr. M Youssef, radiation oncologist at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, and Dr. J Caines, Bobcaygeon family physician, for their compassion and quality care. A special acknowledgement to visiting nurse Desiree and personal support worker, Gillian. Thank you for always bringing humour and kindness; Hugh so enjoyed your visits. 

In accordance with Hugh’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held.
