John Gordon (Gord) Murray
April 19, 1934 - October 29, 2023

After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Gord passed away peacefully at the Ross Memorial Hospital on October 29, 2023. Gord was predeceased by his parents Eugenia and Carl Murray, brother Carl Murray (Mary Murray) and sister Jackie Wood (Bob Wood). Gord is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ellen Murray (Taylor), children Christine Murray, Stephen Murray (Nicole) and Kerry Murray-Bates (John), nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

In keeping with Gord’s wishes there will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass in his honour will take place on Saturday, November 11 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Parish Church, located at 31 Russell Street East, Lindsay, Ontario. With a private family service and interment to take place at a later date. After the Mass, a reception will be held at the home of Kerry Murray-Bates, 33 Victoria Avenue North, Lindsay where light refreshments will be served.

The family would like to thank the nurses of Ross Memorial Hospital for their care of Gord during his many visits, especially nurse Rachelle, 4th floor. Anyone wishing to donate in Gord’s name may do so by contacting the hospital. Special thanks to Mike Parker and Mike Hutton for the special Saturday mornings. Gord really looked forward to their time together.
