Gerald Leslie Scott

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald (Jerry) Leslie Scott on June 12, 2026, at the age of 81. Jerry was the loving husband of Diane and the beloved former husband of Cherry, who predeceased him in 2008. He was the father of Katreena (Costa Metallinos) and Garth (Helen), and a loving and devoted grandfather to Carolyn (Michael Clementino), Jerry, Allison, Andrew, Adrian, Ryan, Sophia and great grand-child Amelia. Jerry is survived by his brother, Jim (Mary), and their children, Jeff, Jennifer, Martha, and Jodi; his sister-in-law, Sherry Musgrove (the late Donald); and his sister-in-law, Gail Stewart (the late Murray), and their children, Michael and Gary. Jerry touched many lives through his work, friendships, and involvement in the community. One of the original teachers at I.E. Weldon Secondary School, he spent many years helping to educate and encourage generations of students. Jerry travelled extensively. He was a skilled woodworker and enjoyed skiing. He and Diane enjoyed going to restaurants, travelling around Ontario and cruising the world together. He was also a familiar face among the Friday breakfast crew. Jerry will be remembered for his kindness, intelligence, wit, and love of spirited debate. He treasured time with family and friends and took a genuine interest in the people around him. In keeping with Jerry's wishes, an open house will be held at Garth and Helen’s home, on August 1, 2026, from 4 to 7 pm. Please contact katreena.scott@gmail.com for directions.
