Westfall, George Allen passed away August 23, 2018, in his 81st year. George was the beloved husband of Barbara Westfall (nee Green). Loving father of Tanner Thomas Westfall and Meghan Frances (Chris Paradine) Westfall, and cherished grandfather of Ava and Olivia Westfall and Georgia Paradine. George is also survived by his brother, Vernon Edwin( Jennifer) Westfall, sister in law, Pamela Green, brother in law, David (Louise) Green and sister in law Joan ( Larry) Whitney, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. George was born in Belleville, Ontario, and grew up in Oshawa. He and Barbara raised their 2 children in Whitby, Ontario, where they first met their close friends, Shirley and Gord Griffin. They later moved to King's Bay, Seagrave, and then Lindsay.
George worked as a district manager for Hiram Walker Distilleries, where he met his dear friend David Simon, for many years, and as a sales representative for Ontario Motor Sales in Oshawa. He also supported many charitable organizations during his life, including the CNIB, the Masons, and the Shrine Club of Oshawa. Two lifelong loves of George's were his cottage on Monck Lake, and ice hockey. He played hockey for the Orillia Terriers, the Galt Hornets, and the Oshawa Mother's Old Boys. Many of his dearest friendships were formed during his hockey years, and at his cottage on Monck lake. Special mention also goes to his wonderful friends from King's Bay, Seagrave.
Cremation has taken place, and there will be a Celebration of Life at the Oshawa Shrine Club, 1626 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa, Ontario, L1G 4X9, on September 8th, from 3 until 8 pm. Everyone is invited to attend and bring along a story to tell. In lieu of flowers, we suggest a donation to Princess Margaret Hospital Cancer Research, care of Dr. Mark Minden.
