Erma Marilynn Shuel
Erma Shuel, beloved wife of the recently deceased Robert John Shuel, died peacefully on the morning of July 1, 2013. Erma was in her 87th year . She ended her battle with cancer with grace, peace and dignity, in her own, quiet, loving way. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Jo-Ann DaPonte, son Douglas Shuel, and grandchildren Christopher Thomas and Rita Frimpong. Her loving presence will be missed in the life of her great-grandchild who will be born to Rita and her husband Mark in the near future. Erma was predeceased by her son, Robert Shuel and her brother Glenn Wilson. Erma's legacy is one of gentle love and strong loyalty to her close and extended family and the many friends which she always treated as dear family members. She had a grace-filled, forgiving and nonjudgemental heart that was willing to truly love and embrace people. Until her recent years, when she joined her beloved husband, Bob, in Victoria Manor, her home was always a welcoming, warm and hospitable place for everyone. Her room at Victoria Manor was filled with much love and laughter and her cheerful laugh and generous spirit will be missed by everyone who knew her. Her dedication to family and her patient, loving care for her husband, despite her own failing health, will not be forgotten. Erma and Bob will be interred in the family plot in Dorchester later this summer. The family requests that no flowers be sent and that any donations be made to either the Parkinson's Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society in Erma's name.
