Obituary

TAYLOR, Elizabeth Bernice

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother. She passed away in her sleep on Monday, November 7, 2022 at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay at the age of 88. Mom was born in Essonville, Ontario and was the daughter of Harman and Maud Noble. She was the beloved wife of the late Jim Taylor (1986) and the late Norm Swartman (1993). She is survived by her daughters Bonnie (Fred) Charlie, Penny (Mike) Johnston and her sons Rick (Cathy) Taylor, Steve (Molly) Taylor and predeceased by oldest son Donnie (1968). Loving Grandma of 13 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren and two predeceased infant Great Grandsons (2008).

Mom was a strong willed and independent woman. She loved her knitting whether it was slippers, scarves, neck warmers or toques, we always got some every Christmas. She had a green thumb and loved gardening throughout the years. She also loved watching wrestling and of course her scratch tickets. Mom loved her family dearly, her life revolved around them.

In keeping with mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a private family service. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

When I must leave you for a little while
Please do not grieve and shed wild tears
And hug your sorrow to you through the years
But start out bravely with a gallant smile
And for my sake and in my name
Live on and do all the things the same
Feed not your loneliness on empty days
But fill each waking hour in useful ways
Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer
And I in turn will comfort you and hold you near
And never never be afraid to die
For I am waiting for you in the sky
You will be truly missed and loved dear Mother
