It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear brother Douglas Albert Johnson on Monday March 29th at Caressant Care McLaughlin Nursing Home at the age of 97. Born in Sackville, NB, he was the son of Wilhelmina, (Minnie) and George Tracy Johnson. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Margaret Helen (McGill), and brothers Lloyd, Keith, Graeme, Ian, sister in laws Margaret, (Lloyd), Diane (Garnet), Ardith (Keith), brother in law Charles (Dorothy). He will be sadly missed and remembered by his sister Dorothy Norcross, brother Garnet (Dianne) and great friend Jack Stover (Donna) who was so kind to Douglas and treated him like a brother. Douglas joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1942 and served the high seas in the Atlantic and Pacific zones. After discharge he moved to Toronto and worked for Continental Can and Gair Paper and Box as a printer. He loved his cottage of 55 years on Salmon Lake, spending all his summers there after retirement. The family would like to thank Caressant Care for the compassion and wonderful care Doug received. As requested by Douglas, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations could be made to your charity of choice.
