Dorothy Compton-Rideout
Passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay,
Ontario.
Predeceased by parents Hardy and Nellie Compton, sister Myra (Morgan) Green,
brothers Ronald and Oswald.
Left to mourn are sons Corey and Sheldon (Elaine) Rideout and sisters Bertha
(Alonzo) Flight, Vera Compton and brothers Lensey and Wilbert Compton,
grandchildren Ashley (Jas) Seble, Krystal (Myles) and Amanda (Christian) Fiorini
and great grandchildren Aiden and Ellie Hofrichter, Iyla Fiorini and Jag, Taj and
Asha Seble and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a visitation on Thursday August 28 th
from 10am – Noon at Lakeland Funeral & Cremation Centre, 19 Moose Road,
Lindsay. A Funeral Service will commence in the Chapel at Noon, a reception will
follow.
Dorothy’s family wishes to thank the family and friends who spent the days and
nights with Dorothy during her seven days in palliative care at Ross Memorial. It
brought peace and comfort to her family in Newfoundland to know their beloved
sister was never left alone during her illness. The family also wishes to thank the
Ross Memorial Hospital for the exceptional care given to Dorothy. In lieu of
flowers, donations can be made to the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation –
Palliative Care Unit.
