Dorothy Ann Allan

ALLAN, Dorothy Ann (Axworthy), born April 13, 1915, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Fenelon Court, Fenelon Falls, ON on April 21, 2012 in her 98th year. Predeceased by her parents, Hattie and Harold Axworthy of Toronto, ON and her loving husband Thomas James Allan. Loving and dedicated mother of Bob, Bruce (Lydia) of Milton, and Liz of Listowel. Dorothy will be missed by her grandchildren Debbie (Tim) Cosulich, Kim (Craig) Weller of Fenelon Falls and Marie Allan of Belleville. Great-grandmother of Natasha and Benjamin Cosulich and Garrett, Mitchell and Morgan Weller of Fenelon Falls, Brandon and Raven Allan of Belleville. Loving sister of Rinn Axworthy (predeceased) and Irene Wilson of Stroud. Dorothy will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Dorothy lived a busy and very productive life - she fostered over 125 newborn babies from 1948 until 1973 and had been named Foster Mother of the Year by the Toronto Children's Aid Society. The family wishes to express much gratitude to Dr. Martin Young for his diligent care of Dorothy, to the staff of Fenelon Court for the care they bestowed upon her and the Poppy Fund at the Fenelon Falls Legion. A Celebration of Life will be held in Dorothy's honour on Sunday, May 6th, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, 21 Charles St, Milton ON. If desired, memorial donations to honour Dorothy can be made in support of Breast Cancer Research or to The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, through Parker Funeral Home, 19 Moose Road, Lindsay. 705-324-1988.
