In Loving Memory of Doris Penno

August 18th, 1927 - January 14th, 2024

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of Doris Penno, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and matriarch. She departed this world surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of strength, boundless love, and encouragement for pursuing passions and dreams.

In her 96 years, Doris embraced life with grace and resilience. She was a loving mother to Nancy, Richard (Sharon), Randy (Kathy) and Don (Jane), a loving ‘Granny’ to Brittany, Dylan, Tyler, Danielle, Stephanie, Jennifer, Katelyn, Lauren, Andrew, and Rebecca, and a loving ‘Great-Granny’ to Emily, Kylie, Olivia, Grace, Isabelle, Emmett, Colton, Harper, and Leighton. She inspired everyone with her wisdom, kindness, and unwavering positive outlook on life.

Daughter to William and Lillian Kellow, survived by sisters Louise, Brenda and Virginia, predeceased by Gladys, Lillibelle, Corrine, Phyllis, Loretta, and Jeanette.

The funeral service to celebrate Doris’s remarkable life will be held on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024 at Lakeland Funeral and Cremation Centre, 19 Moose Rd, Lindsay, Ontario. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm with the service following at 1:30 pm.  Family and friends are invited to gather to share memories, offer condolences, and find solace in each other's company as they bid farewell to a remarkable woman.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Bereaved Families Of Ontario Durham Region, a charity close to Doris’s heart.

May her memory live on in the hearts of all those she touched with her love and kindness.
