Passed away peacefully at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, Ontario on Thursday, December 20th, 2012 at the age of 86 with her family by her side. Beloved wife of Frank of Lindsay. Loving mother of Bonnie (predeceased), Nick (Mary) of Lindsay, Patti (Len Thurston) of Lindsay, Ted (Wendy Knapp) of Lindsay and Bob (Shari) of Whitby. Loving Gramma of Chris (Madeline), Clare-Francis, Melissa (Richard), Tammy (Jay), Leighanne (Matt), Dean, Samantha and Justin. GG of Noah, Elliott, Mya and Alexander. Predeceased by her brothers Aylmer Barnsley, Warry Barnsley and survived by her sister Olive and brother Lloyd. Doreen will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Special thank you to Dr. Anderson and the nurses at the Ross Memorial Hospital Emergency Department and Surgical Floor and a very special thank you to nurse Kimberly. The family will receive friends at Parker Funeral Home, 19 Moose Road on Monday, December 24th from 11:00 am until time of funeral service in the chapel at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay. Reception following the interment at approximately 3:00 pm at the Moose Lodge, 10 Moose Road, Lindsay. In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations to the Moose Lodge or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family and can be arranged by Parker Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 705-324-1988.
