David Franklin Black passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 27, 2025, at the age of 72. Beloved son of Leila and Wes Black. Cherished husband of Karen (Crumb) Black for 44 wonderful years. Loving father of Ashley (Adam) and Cheryl (Tim). Proud papa of Kaitlin and Emily. David will be remembered for the special bond he shared with his beloved dog, Ruby, who was always by his side, and for his lifelong love of horses, which brought him great joy. He was predeceased by his brothers Paul (Sharon) and Stan, and his sister Lee-Anne. He will be deeply missed by his brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, many extended family members, and dear friends.

In keeping with David’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service at this time.

Donations in memory of David can be made to the Kawartha Lakes Humane Society or Ross Memorial Hospital.

David’s warmth, kindness, and devotion to family will be remembered always.
