Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Friday, August 10th, 2012 at the Ross Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Lindsay at the age of 84. Beloved husband of the late Carol Traynor. Special friend of Helen Edgson. Loving father of Lynda Neu (Terrell), Elaine Sherrit (Jim) and Stephen Walden (Lynn). Grandfather of Tricia (Adam), Michelle, Crystal, Kyle (Beth), Blair (Natalie), Stephen, Ryan, Taylor, Joseph, Nicole (deceased), Nicholas and Kyle. Great Grandfather of Kyden, Channing, Fallon, Porter, MacKenzie, Emma, Noah, Brady and Avery. Beloved son of the late Albert and Hazel Walden. Survived by his brother John (Kit) and predeceased by sister Helen (Elwood), brother Lorne (Evelyn (surviving)) and sister Lois (Ardy). Also survived by sister-in-laws Florence (Bruce), Elizabeth (Jim (deceased)), Annette (Malcolm), Yvonne (Wayne) and brother-in-law Gerrard (Bonnie), also predeceased by sister-in-laws Shirley (Gord), Beverley (Bill) and brother-in-law Bernard. Claire will be sadly missed by all his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, family and friends. The family will receive friends at Parker Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 19 Moose Road, Lindsay on Tuesday, August 14th from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Funeral service to take place at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 40 William Street North, Lindsay on Wednesday, August 15th at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay. Reception following at the church. If desired, in lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family and can be arranged by Parker Funeral Home, 705-324-1988.
