Charles Edward Empringham of Little Britain, Ontario passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Lindsay Ross Memorial Hospital surrounded by family after a hard fought battle with COPD. Charlie was born in Kinsale on August 22nd 1941 to the late Lloyd (Bus) and Blanche Empringham. Survived by his loving wife of 48 years Shirley Ann (St. John). Loving father of Julie (Brian), Karey (Stephen) and Paul. Precious grandfather (Gampy) to Melissa (Josh) and Will and great grandfather to Mackinley and Olivia. He will be dearly missed by his brother Brian (Brenda) and sister Barb (the late Bob Lehman) and their families. Sadly missed by his cherished dog Bailey. Charlie had a great career of 27 years as an owner operator at Canadian Tire Corporation plus years before at Ariss Haulage. He finished up his career working at Port Perry Trailer Rental. He loved woodworking, completing many projects that are now family heirlooms. Trains were another passion once completing a miniature railroad and village at his prior home on Scugog Island. He enjoyed travelling with family and friends and yearly vacations to Florida. He took great pleasure in a good home cooked meal finished off with a tasty slice of pie! As per Charlie's wishes cremation has taken place under the care of Lakeland Funeral Centre Lindsay, Ontario and there will be no funeral service. Interment and a Celebration of Life to be held at a future date. If desired donations in memory of Charlie can be made to the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes or the Uxbridge - Scugog Animal Shelter.
