In Loving Memory of Chad Everett Burgie

It is with profound sadness and much love that the family of Chad Everett Burgie announce his peaceful passing on the evening of June 2, 2026,  at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay Ontario. 

Chad was the beloved son of Pat and Ed, cherished husband and best friend of Beth for 27 wonderful years, together for 33 years, and a devoted father to sons Tyler, Andrew and Jesse. He was a loving brother to Steve and sister-in-law Jen, a proud and supportive uncle to Davis and Cameron, a treasured son-in-law to JoAnn and Doug Walker, a much-loved brother-in-law to Stacey and Andrea, and loyal friend to many. 

A devoted husband and incredible father, Chad’s happiest moments were spent with his family. Whether he was changing diapers, cleaning the house, playing sports and video games with his boys, helping them work on their cars, or taking Tyler to Disney World simply to enjoy the joy and excitement on his son’s face, Chad gave his whole heart to his family. He shared a special bond with his beloved fur baby, Tucker. He was present for every moment, big and small, and made each one special.

Chad will be remembered for his infectious grin, honesty, quick wit, generosity and genuine kindness. He had a rare gift for making everyone feel welcome, valued and cared for. To find someone with a negative word for Chad would be impossible. Always willing to lend a hand without expecting anything in return, Chad quietly made the world better wherever he went. 

Good at everything he tried, Chad approached life with enthusiasm, dedication and a generous heart. Whether on the ball field, on the lawn bowling green, completing home renovations, and construction projects, or simply supporting those he loved, he excelled in every way.

To know Chad was to know warmth, laughter, and unwavering support. Even during his most difficult days, his concern remained focused on those around him rather than himself. True to the way he lived life, Chad faced cancer with remarkable courage and determination, fighting tirelessly through treatments and pain for the chance to spend just one more day with his family and friends. His strength, resilience and bravery are an inspiration to all who witnessed his journey. A true warrior, he never stopped fighting for the people he loved.

Though our hearts are broken by his loss, we are forever grateful for the years, memories, laughter and love he gave us. Chad’s legacy lives on in his wonderful sons, and in the countless lives he touched through his generosity, compassion, and unwavering dedication to family and friends. He will be fiercely missed, lovingly remembered and forever carried in our hearts.

The family would like to thank their relatives and many friends for all the love and support received during this time. A special thank you goes to the caring staff at Ross Memorial Hospital, Hospice and the PRHC Oncology Team. Your kindness, compassion and support will never be forgotten.

Services will be held on Friday June 12, 2026 at Lakeland Funeral & Cremation Centre (19 Moose Road, Lindsay Ontario). Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a service at 12:00 p.m. A reception will follow.  A memory book will be available for anyone wishing to share a special story, moment, or memory had with Chad. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Chad’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
