Although our hearts are broken, we are content knowing you are where you want to be, with your soul mate and best friend of over 70 years Carolyn (2024) and your beloved son Steven (2005) and granddaughter Amanda (1985). Your parents Norman and Lena and brother Murray, sisters Doreen and Helen all predeceased you. Your beloved daughter Sandra, your grandchildren Robert (Rebecca) Lesley (Daniel) are left to share their memories of you. Jack and Rita, Ralph and Kathy, and Lorraine will also keep memories close. You worked years in construction , retired after 35 years at General Motors, and then started your own business in welding and repairs. Together with Mom you built 3 homes, adopted and raised your 2 children. You built a solid foundation with hardwork and perseverance. You learnt from hands on. You perfected everything. Your shops were your heaven and a gathering place for conversations and ideas. You had a life of camping, boating, travelling Canada by vehicle from East Coast to West Coast. You and mom travelled to Texas, Florida, the Carolinas, Bahamas, England and Spain. You were the best armchair critic when it came to daily news, the blue jays and the maple leafs. I humbly extend a heartfelt thank-you to the many PSW’s, nurses and dedicated staff at Extendicare Lindsay. He loved the time took to visit with him for even a short period of time. To friends, and neighbours who took time to visit, he enjoyed it all. We are forever grateful to have had the opportunity to love you for 94 years and be loved by someone so special.
A private family service will take place at a later date
