Betty "Bettie" Dorithy MacDonald

Passed away suddenly at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario. Betty was born in Toronto, Ontario on June 1st, 1932. Born to the Late James MacDonald & Emily MacDonald (nee Kirk). Devoted mother of Gordon Jones (Suzette), Victoria Fisher (Laurence) & Andrew Jones (Jennie). Cherished grandmother of Derek (Megan), Mark (Chloe), Ryan, Patrick & Sarah. Proud great grandmother of Lilly, Raya & Alaina.  Predeceased by sisters Phyllis Johannesson (the Late Thor) & Ruth McElhinney (the Late Norm). Betty will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews.

To Betty, family was everything. Her favourite times were always spent with family by her side. She never turned down a chance to see her family and reconnect with everyone. Even as dementia took her memory, she always asked when the next family get together was. She fondly remembered the pool parties at Steve & Lori’s every summer.

Betty was a very proud mother, grandmother & great grandmother. She was everyone’s biggest fan, cheering them on during every accomplishment or milestone they achieved in life.

Mom worked hard all her life, starting at 14 years of age, working at the local fruit market. She worked in many roles throughout her life and & took great pride in her shorthand skills. She became involved with the Legion and at one time became the president of the Ladies Auxiliary in Ajax.

Her social graces and talkative personality will be thoroughly missed by many. 

There will be a Celebration of Life held for Bettie on Saturday May 24th, 2025 between the hours of 1PM-4PM at the Ajax Legion (111 Hunt Street, Ajax, Ontario)
