What a beautiful picture of this kind and sweet lady! She always wore a happy face and always had a smile for you. Although her body was weak her sprit remained strong ! She will live on in our heart and in our thoughts !Her youngest grand daughter Kate loved her Granny so, and loved to learn knitting and crocheting from Betty. From: Heather Clarke

My Dear Aunt Betty, I always looked forward to her visits when she’d come out to reconnect with her western relatives. She was always warm, kind and friendly, and we enjoyed recollecting memories of her past antics with her brother, George. I also remember when I moved out east for a period, and she’d invite me over to enjoy a home-cooked meal to share with her family. I really appreciated the break from cafeteria food, and spending time with family! I am blessed for having known her, and am grateful that she was a part of my life! We will miss her dearly! Our prayers and thoughts are with you all at this difficult time. Love, Heather and Richard Clarke

My deepest sympathies to Mr. Underhill, Nancy, Stephen, Noreen, Cheryl, Jill, Suzanne and Donna. Words cannot begin to express my sadness for you. Mrs. Underhill was a big part of my childhood as I spent a lot of time at your house. I was always treated as part of the family. I have many good memories of being at the Underhill house on May Ave. I unfortunately can’t be there on Thursday but my thoughts are with you all.

My deepest sympathies to Uncle Den and my cousins. I have many fond memories of Aunt Betty's visits to BC as I was growing up and always looked forward to her many stories and pictures she brought of my cousins and their life in Ontario. I remember her as a kind and generous lady, always smiling. She had a great sense of humour and in my mind's eye I picture the many times she and my Dad George and Grandma Jean were laughing together sitting at our kitchen table. One of the things that stands out most in my mind was her devotion to my Uncle Den, and his to her. When Betty visited us it was with reluctance that Uncle Den would be without her, even for a short stay. There would always be many phone calls back and forth between them during her visits - at least once daily. This was when long distance calling was a luxury not afforded easily. Uncle Den is foremost in my thoughts now. Aunt Betty will be sincerely missed by all those that were lucky enough to have known her, and will always live on in our hearts.
