Bertram William Needham
February 9, 1946 – November 19, 2023
Bert Needham passed away peacefully with family by his side at Ross Memorial Hospital on
Sunday November 19, 2023. Survived by his wife of 23 years Earline (nee Harris) who cared for
him during his long battle with cancer. Bert will also be missed by his daughter Beth Needham
and her husband Mike Ploc, stepsons Tim Walker and wife Betty, Darren Walker and wife Leigh.
Bert also leaves behind five grandchildren: Cody and Cameron Walker, Skyler Walker, John and
Gordon Ploc.
Bert spent many years working in the printing and photocopying business in various roles from
the late 1970s through to 2000. He worked alongside his older brother and best pal John for
most of his life – including his very first job working at a gas station when he was thirteen. He
was a talented artist and woodworker who had a passion for birds and nature. He shared many
summers of memories at both Wolf and Balsam Lakes, where he loved to fish, canoe, and help
out any neighbour in need. He was always proud of his heritage and connection to Algonquin
Park and enjoyed researching his roots. He had a great smile, and he could build anything his
imagination could dream up.
He will be greatly missed.
Our family would be pleased to have you join us as we Celebrate Bert's Life on Friday January 19th from 1 - 3 pm. at Lakeland Funeral & Cremation Centre, 19 Moose Road, Lindsay ON.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay,
