Ah Lan "Linda" Chan (nee Lee) Obituary

With deep sadness we announce the passing of Linda (Ah Lan) Chan, aged 76. Linda died peacefully on December 1st, 2025, at Ross Memorial Hospital, surrounded by family, following a rapid battle with stomach cancer.

She was born on June 28th, 1949, in Shanghai, China. She immigrated to Canada in 1972, married in 1980, and had two children.

Linda was incredibly hard working. She started in her early teens as a bead embroiderer and continued in various assembly jobs. She helped financially support her family until she had one of her own.

In 1986, she and her husband sold their home in Toronto and moved to Lindsay, where they purchased Cross Creek Marina & Resort. While raising two young children, she learned the business from the ground up and managed its operations. They ran the marina until retiring in 2019. Over the years, she built many close relationships with customers, some of whom came to regard her as family.

Linda and her husband moved into Adelaide Place in 2024, where she developed strong relationships with both residents and staff, many of whom considered Linda as a close friend.

Linda was known for her smile, laughter, warmth, authenticity, and resilience.

We love you so much Mama (Ah ma).

Linda is survived by her husband Jack, her children Tony (Candice) and Mable (Alex), her two grandchildren Alexis and Lincoln, and her two brothers Richard and Louis. She will be lovingly remembered by all her extended family including brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews.

Poem by Linda written shortly after her mom passed:
"Do not speak of people who have already passed away,
As we do not know how long on this earth we will stay,
As we know, life is like the morning dew,
That's why we should salvage every happy moment, when it is due.”
- May 2002
