It is with great love and pride that we celebrate the life of (Wallace) Munroe Strain. Munroe was born April 9th, 1918 on Manitoulin Island and passed away in his 92nd year, on April 29th, 2009, with his loving family by his side. Munroe is predeceased by his wife Catherine (“Blondie”) nee Ross, his father, William, his mother, Martha (“Birdie”), brothers, Billie, Dave, Dick and Art, and his sisters, Lenna, Ilene and Helen. He is survived by his six children, Ross (Sheri) Strain, Sharron (Frank) Bayley, David (Susan) Strain, Lynne (Jim) Sulyma, Debbie (Darcy) Warren and Kathi (Dean) Elvidge, 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of Munroe Strain on Saturday, May 9th, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Parker Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 19 Moose Road, (corner of McLaughlin and Moose Road) Lindsay, Ontario. Munroe’s family would like to give special thanks to all of the dedicated and caring staff at both Caressant Care Nursing Home (Mary Street) as well as those at the Ross Memorial Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ross Memorial Hospital or the Canadian Wildlife Federation would be greatly appreciated by the family and can be arranged by Parker Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 19 Moose Road, PO Box 236, Lindsay K9V 4S1. 324-1988.
