LeRoy, Susan Margaret Ann (nee:Fairy)
Passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay on Saturday, June 23rd 2018, in her 64th year. She was surrounded by the love of her family, friends, colleagues, students and neighbours. Predeceased by her father John “Jack” Fairy and survived by her mother Peggy. Survived by her sisters Kathryn Kennedy (Dan) and Janet Fairy (Ted) and brothers John and Robert Fairy. Beloved aunt of her niece Katie, and her nephews Darren, Mark, Cole and Jake. Survived by her Aunts Edith (John Gray) and Dorothy “Bunty” Sibbald. Susan was the loving wife of Jerry for thirty years and will be greatly missed by her children Shannon Yeo (Kevin) and Shane. Cherished gramma of Raelynn. While in hospital, Susan met her newest granddaughter via ultrasound, giving a clear image of her soon to be grandchild content in the womb sucking her thumb. Being a stepmom to David LeRoy, Lisa Mercer and Michelle Pomeroy brought her special pleasure as it did to be a loving GiGi to seven step grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, Alicia, Kylie, Hannah, Katie and Megan. Susan taught at Stouffville D.H.S first as a Phys. Ed teacher/coach then later as a Co-op supervisor which over the years brought her great joy. She loved the staff (teaching, secretarial, custodial and cafeteria) and most of all her students. This love was reciprocated over the years as she maintained close contact with many. Being a strong role model for young women was important for Sue, and she delivered. Upon Retirement Sue and Jerry bought their dream home in Bobcaygeon; unfortunately her battle with cancer cut her enjoyment short. Too good to be gone so soon. Much thanks to the wonderful staff of the gynecology unit at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie for their professionalism, empathy and helpfulness during such a difficult time. Special recognition goes to the Kawartha North Family Health Team, and the Hospice and Palliative care teams (community and hospital) including volunteers for the ongoing support and care. As per Susan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place,Sunday July 8th from 1 - 5 pm. at the Angus Glen Golf and Country Club, 10080 Kennedy Road, Markham. Memorial donations may go to Kawartha North Family Health Centre, Kawartha Hospice and Palliative care teams. Better still, please get out and walk for cancer, hospice or even volunteer.
