December 31, 1929 - February 19, 2014
Born on Morningside Avenue in Toronto, grew up in the Valentia area, and lived most of his life in the village of Hartley. Predeceased by his wife Doreen May (Western) (2008), father John (1986), mother Jessie (Attridge) (1988), brother John (2012) (Gladys 2001) and sister-in-law Anne (2003). Survived by his seven children: Marlene & Charles, Ron & Anna, Rick & Georgina, Steven & Karen, Wayne & Kinga, Julie & Rob and Bruce & Kim. Roy will be fondly remembered by his 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Loving brother of Robert of Wasaga Beach, Audrey Horner (Harley predeceased) of Toronto, Margaret Healey (Larry) of Campbellford, Ruth Mitterman (Arnold) of Alliston and Noreen Williams (John) of Guelph. Roy Hartford was an electrician for many years, retiring from Uniroyal, Lindsay, Ontario. Roy enjoyed 24 years of retirement with his family and loved ones. The family will receive friends at Parker Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 19 Moose Road, Lindsay on Saturday, February 22nd from 12:00 pm until time of funeral service in the chapel at 2:00 pm. Reception to follow. Spring interment at South Valentia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if desired, in memoriam donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family and can be arranged by Parker Funeral Home, 705-324-1988.
