Peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on August 31, 2009 in his 79th year. Ron will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Irene Grace (Gardner) and children Duncan (Cathie), Blair (Marilyn), Jennifer Wilson (Randy), Rhonda (Allan Morton), grandchildren Ashley, William, Tara, Natasha, Aaron, Russell, Brandon, Keith, Kristen, Matthew, Allison, Graeme and Justin. Ron was the eighth child of Norman and Ida (Pike). He is predeceased by siblings Mae Kitchener (Jim), Ted, Russell (Beryl), Margaret Burnham (Norm), Norman, Audrey Poole (George) and Barry. He leaves his sisters-in-law Bette and Vicki Gibson, Alice (Bruce) Simpson and numerous nieces and nephews. Ron was a "people person" who loved life - his kind and friendly nature touched everyone he met. He grew up in Toronto and graduated in 1962 from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. He had successful Chiropractic practices in Toronto and Willowdale (Henry Farms). In 1993 he retired to Fenelon Falls and later Bobcaygeon. He enjoyed skiing, tennis, golf and travel. Ron also loved participating in the Academy Theatre "Gold Shows" (Lindsay) and the Heedless Hoarsemen Choir (Florida). Ron lived his life through example. He generously gave his time to many charity and volunteer activities. He was a 52 year member, Past Master and District Secretary of the Masonic Lodge (Georgina, Spry) and the Rameses Shrine Temple (Oshawa). He was a past Warden of St. James Anglican Church and 15 year Fenelon Community Care volunteer. Thank you Ron/Dad for enriching all our lives! We will miss you every day and cherish the memories. Visitation and funeral service on Saturday, September 12, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at St James Anglican Church, 19 Bond Street East, Fenelon Falls. If desired a donation may be made to a charity of your choice
