Johnston, Robert 'Elwood'

In his 77th year, following a lengthy illness, passed away on Saturday, October the 12th, 2008 surrounded by his loving family in Ross Memorial's Palliative Care Unit. Loving husband of Marie Eleanor Johnston (Eby) for 49 years. Predeceased by dear parents Lillian and Harold Johnston, formerly of Claremont then Pinedale, sisters Sylvia (Armand English) and Angela Taylor-Stiner. Sadly missed by sister Florence White (Herb) of Newmarket. Daughters Bonnie (John Farquhar) of Blackwater, Patricia (Tom Crosier) of Sunderland, Sue-Anne (Barry Pretty) of Newfoundland and special "Paw" to Terry Beauregard-Jones and Sarah. Much loved Poppa to Amy (Joe), Rob (April), Terry, Justin, Matthew, Ashlee, Tyler, Riley and Lexi. Loved Step-Poppa to Shannon, Ryan, Tara, Chad, Ken, Amanda and Shelby. Proud Great-Poppa to Brodi, Breckin and Alexander. Loved Step-Great-Poppa to Kyle, Mackayla, Austin and Trinity. A very special thank you to Access of Lindsay, our Paramed nurses, especially Angie and P.S.W.'s from Palliative home care. Thank you to all the wonderful nurses in "Ross's" Palliative Care Unit. Many thanks to Dr. Wayne Stanley of Lindsay, Dr. Florence Wong of Toronto General and Dr. Peter Campbell of Pickering for their excellent care over the past 2 1/2 years. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, if desired. Family and friends will be received at Parker Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 19 Moose Road (corner of McLaughlin and Moose Road), Lindsay on Thursday, October 16th from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm and on Friday, October 17th from 1:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 pm, reception to follow.
