I saw your Dad's notice in the paper, and called my Aunt Marg Thomson Walton, who is still in Toronto, and 94.

She remembers your Dad, very well. Her brother, my Uncle George (Dode) Thomson, was your neighbour at Fourmile from 1949 to about 1980.

My Dad was Jack, but HE and Mum were not big on cottages. My brother and I loved the lake, and are now both retired on Muskoka Lake. We bought the property my brother and family are on, in 1975. So, there was always a cottage in the Thomson family.

We spent many happy hours on your Dad's lake, and I remember the HUNT mailbox. Also, remember Retties. Down at the creek, right? They had a granddaughter who was my age. (70)

Remember Ramsays, and was at the cottage as an adult, when Ramsay's cottage up on the cliff, burned down. Looked out the window the next morning and WOW!!! it was gone!

My Aunt Marg said your Dad was a really nice man and always very polite. Amazing what people keep in their brain storage area for a lifetime, isn't it? She also said how lovely it was, that he spent that long at the lake.

I hope your family will stay on at your Dad's place. Many changes to the lakes these days...building monster homes...we had the best of times.

Thinking of you at this sad time.

Lynne

Hi Lynne: My name is Teresa Hamilton and I am Julia Ramsay's granddaughter from Four Mile Lake. I would love to hear from you. My sister Margaret is about your age and she thinks she remembers you. Please contact me at the e-mail provided. Margaret wondered if you are Johnny Gordon's sister??

So happy I got to speak with you just before you passed. We will miss our visits and chats about the Rettie/Leitch Families. I had little knowledge of Gran until you filled me in on all the family history. You had such a great memory and we appreciated every visit we had with you. All we have now are our fond memories of a shy, private man of few words but a great sense of humour. You will be missed. XOX

We are going to miss you so much Norm. Where are we going to go when we come to the lake? We enjoyed every minute that we spent together. You will be in our memories and hearts forever. I hope we are doing everything right Norm. Love you and miss you!
