OWENS-WATSON, Kathryn "Betty" nee Baker
It is with sadness we announce that Kathryn passed away, though peacefully after a lengthy and brave battle with cancer at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, Ontario on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the age of 89. Wife of Leslie Watson Lindsay, Ontario. Former late husband Benjamin Owens. And late sons Joseph, John and Robert. Sister of William Baker (Joy) Birmingham, Alabama. Grandmother to Paul Baker, Katy Texas. Cousin to Bonnie Baker (Ted) Saint Catherines, Ontario, Michael Baker (Margaret) Phoenix, Arizona. Stepmother to Jim Watson (Carmen) Orillia, Ontario, the late Anne Watson Lindsay, Ontario, Joy Woodcock (Gary, late) Trent Hills, Ontario, Richard Watson (Tina) Bowmanville, Ontario, Randal Watson (Angela) Toronto, Ontario, and Gerald Watson Lindsay, Ontario. Kathryn was a devout parishioner, loved to go on an exciting road trip, was extremely witty, a fabulous landscape painter and especially reveled watching the gardens grow. To honor Kathryn’s wishes, a quiet service will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery columbarium at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Memorial gifts may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice. A very special thank you to step relatives, friends and neighbors and to the compassionate Palliative Care Team at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, Ontario.
“Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and always dear.”
God saw the road was getting rough,
And the hills were hard to climb,
So he closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered “Peace be thine.”
