John Edward Wesley Walden entered into rest at the Ross Memorial Hospital in his 84th year on January 26, 2018. He was the youngest son of Bert and Hazel Walden. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years Kathleen (Fanning). Beloved father of Lauri Anne (Paul) Wooldridge, Kathleen (Joe) Sutton, Ted Walden and David (Christine Anderson) Walden. Cherished grandfather of Carlie (Anthony) Butzer, Douglas (Crystal Lavigne) Wooldridge, Courtney (Bill Pritchard) Genge, Laura Genge, David Sutton, Shane (McKayla MacDonald-Smith) Walden, and Nicholas Walden. Adoring great-grandfather of Carson Butzer and Aria Wooldridge. He will also be missed by his grand dog Sadie. He is survived by his sisters-in-laws Evelyn Walden, Terry Ainsborough, Madeleen Lynch, Gwen Fanning and his brother-in-law Ted Fanning. Predeceased by his sisters Helen (Elwood) Frain, Lois (Ardy) Sullivan and his brothers Lorne Walden and Claire (Carol) Walden, brother-in-laws; Joseph (Dot) Fanning, Leo Fanning, Francis (Violet) Fanning, Fabian Fanning, Bill Fanning, and Alan Lynch, and sister-in-laws; Marg (Frank) Roche and Eileen (Alec) Dunn. He will be missed by his many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Friends and Family are invited to Lakeland Funeral and Cremation Centre, 19 Moose Rd., Lindsay on Thursday, February 1st from 2 pm-4 pm and 6 pm-8 pm and again on Friday, February 2nd at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 40 William St. N., Lindsay, from 12:30 pm until time of funeral service at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay. Reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 67, Lindsay.
